What does the stay look like?
Rehabilitation after rhizotomy procedure is an important element in consolidating the effect of the operation in a child. It consists in sensory stimulation of the operated limb and functional preparation with the use of new length and biomechanics of tissues. All this to make the best use of the child's skills.
What are the aims of the stay?
- Maintenance and / or improvement of ranges of mobility;
- Improvement of muscle strength and power;
- Improvement of deep feeling and body linearity;
- Normalization of muscle tone - to the possible extent;
- Improving coordination;
- Improve balance and locomotion;
- Improving gross motor function;
- Help in planning the therapy before and after surgery and in the selection of orthopedic equipment.
